Fabulous Torture

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all will have a nice weekend. Today I’m kicking off the weekend with a fun at-home cooking post to get you feeling motivated for the weekend ahead. I recently tried out the Green Chef meal kit subscription service in hopes spicing things up in the kitchen without having to make a big trip to grocery store (I don't like the self checkout) or wasting any extra ingredients, which always ends up happening since I'm only cooking for three. They ship you all the ingredients already portioned out with the recipes attached and they offer new menus every week, so you won’t get bored. I started with the Family Plan and I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the cooking process! I was impressed with how delicious everything turned out considering it was “meal in the box!”   Green Chef  makes it impossible for you to fail though because they basically hand you everything and give you step-by-step instructions. ...

Today, I decided to show you my quick and easy healthy breakfast or snacks recipes. Since I am always in rush and running late, these have become my staple go to breakfasts! Summer is almost over, and Anayan starting kindergarten today. I'll blog about it another time.  Today, I have to tell you about this amazing place in Destin Commons called  Yay! BEIGNETS . It's a little kiosk right by the water fountain and they have the most delicious beignets in town! Yay! BEIGNETS is a family run cajun comfort cusine, but they sell other stuff like snow cones and chips.  Anyways, the reason why I'm writing about them is not just the pastry, but also the owners and people who work there. My friend and I brought our kids to play in the water fountain, and our kids decided to go to the food stand and beg for stuff. The nice owner gave each of them chips and then he also brought us (the moms) beignets. We tried to pay, but he wouldn't take it.  I wouldn't have even known about this place, and I love beignets!  If you've ever had beignets in Louisiana, these taste exactly the same, delicious ! !  So, what are you waiting for!
